This book is an excellent compilation of just about all that any ordinary pasta lover could hope to find in one place. It is filled with helpful reference information for folks like me that don't cook for a living, but get great enjoyment from doing so, as best possible. I have a lot of books on pasta, and tend to put this one in the upper 10% bracket. I like it a lot.

With so many cookbooks from which to choose, this one is way above average. It offers simple recipes then broadens to the more complex. They are easy to follow and the results are great.
Since I like to make homemade pasta, I wanted to try this to obtain variations. This cookbook did not disappoint me. Full of illustrations, it offers many techniques regarding pasta making and serving. This book is, however, light on sauces.
My last name is Beard. I like to eat pasta. I hope James A. Beard likes to eat pasta too. He is dead though, so he can't eat any more pasta.
