Over the top magic , not in the style of modern fantasy. I'm a fan of Abercombe, Martin, Rothfuss and Tolkien. This is sorcery, Wizards, talking dolls, floating mountains from page one. To be honest I'm only in 150 pages but I can't see reading 10 of these.

From first page page to last, this fantasy masterpiece grabs your imagination with two huge, gauntleted hands and never lets go! Fast-paced, character-centered story lines that introduce the readers to a world of warring gods and nations manipulating a cast of heroic characters for their own ends. Erikson proves himself one of those rare authors who are able to paint an elaborate picture in the readers' mind without making one wonder if he gets paid by the word. I found myself intrigued with every one of the characters and creatures from the loathesome to the loveable and every one in between. The world into which I found myself immersed was just familiar enough to be comfortable, but so original that it was never boring for a moment.
