As an avid Nevada Barr fan, I found Deep South as well-written and entertaining as the previous six. Anna, realizing she needs a better income and future, takes a promotion to district ranger at the Natchez Trail in Mississippi and finds herself in the unusual position of not feeling at home with nature. Also, she finds resentment and distrust because she is a woman. A complex plot involves the discovery of a dead 16-year old girl, hooded with a noose around her head, her friends and family and Civil War enactors. Fortunately, Anna is helped by the district ranger from the adjoining territory and the local sheriff. Fast paced, convincing plot with a delightful description of the environment and people.
This book is in great condition. It was properly advertised for its condition. It was also shipped in a timely manner. It also completes my Nevada Barr collection. Thanks!
