Had 2 other usb hubs that didn't work correctly. Was causing my PC to not boot up unless I disconnected the usb hub first. . I thought I had too many devices running off it. I guess I needed this 60w power supply. Everything works beautifully. The PC runs faster, all the ports work great. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone running multiple devices needing a usb hub with a larger power supply.

Seems to be working very good. I have 7 hard drives connected to it and all is well. There are 2 each 4Tb drives, a 320 Gb drive, 2 each 720 Gb drives, and 2 each 2Tb drives and they all talk well using a Dell XPS desktop i7 computer.

This little 7-port unit will charge at full rate, much higher than standard USB, with grunt to spare, whilst moving data at USB 3.0 speeds without bogging down, thanks to it's dual chipset, and humungous power supply! It's housing is a compact size, making it a candidate for in-car media installations to keep everyone onboard connected to the internet, file sharing, listening to music, or watching a movie, or simply leaving their device on charge. The only quarrel I have with any premium powered hub is the ability to use mobile devices as hosts whilst providing charge simultaneously all from the USB-B host port. To my knowledge, no spliced cable will prevent OTG mode (no charge given.) However Lava has their own adapter that overcomes this, though is not ideal to have to be adding extra hardware, nor reported reliable for what they cost. The only thing that could make this hub better is to achive this, much like a sync/charge via USB controller on a PC, whilst providing host capabilities, whilst leaving PC out of the loop. To confirm, my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has USB Host Controller installed, and recognises two chips and all devices plugged in, just no charge as mentioned as I don't have the Lava adapter, nor can I find a better solution. The build quality of this hub is what you would expect from Plugable... good. All USB ports are spaced far enough apart so as not to interfere with nieghbouring devices. It does not however have screw slots in the base, nor does it come boxed with any velcro mounting solutions. The unit it lightweight, and can easily be dragged off a desk with cables pulling it. Incidentally, the soft plastic bag the hub came in was exaclty what I needed to complete a UHF external mic waterproofing job after replacing a speaker in it, because the material used there needed to be specific :-) Over-all, if you are looking for a first class USB hub that also provides power, this little powerhouse is what you want, and I don't feel a jingle, or sales ploy needs to accompany that opinion.Read full review
