"Victor Newman in a Western?" Yes, he is! The Man Who Came Back is a well-written story of a white foreman working on a southern plantation supervising Negro field hands. It portrays the typical biases of Civil War times as the main character, time and time again, helps the families himself in their times of need. He is wrongfully jailed for the death of a Negro slave and therein lies the plot of the entire movie. With plenty of violence, much racial tension, and many tearjerking incidents, the viewer has an opportunity to walk a mile in the shoes of those alive at that time. The filming is realistic and images are not as graphically portrayed as in many modern movies. I cried often, got angry even more often, but most of all I got indignant as people simply turned their heads and looked the other way when injustice was done. Ultimately justice does prevail, however, as he "comes back" to set the record straight. A must see for all Eric Braedon fans. It's refreshing to see him in yet another role. So now there's been "Love Bug," "Young & The Restless" and a western. I'll be watching for more Eric Braedon movies.Read full review

The old, 'You shot my wife and child. Then, you had your way with my dog.' plot. This movie uses the travesty on the black slaves freed after the Civil War, as its motive. That didn't work out, so it turned to a revenge drama. Not much there, so they tried the saloon gal with the Jose Ibar hairdo. Finally, still determined to bring this thing to salvation, they went to the trite gunfight scene. A great movie to put on the player, while you're outside working on your golf swing.

it is a western type movie of which i think they're too few of these days. great cast, and the leading character is very well known in daytime soap operas. great movie, hope to see much more. thumbs up!!!!
