The costumes are beautiful and the scenes of bygone train travel and ski resorts are interesting, but it's hard to get past the sitcom premise. Ellen is in love with her boss, but he sees her as just his secretary. He dates many girls, but always backs off when the girl starts angling for marriage. When he invites Ellen along on a business trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, Ellen hopes he might see her in a romantic light. But then he cancels the invitation. So Ellen's friend Chris, a beautiful water-ballet star, decides that she and Ellen should go to Sun Valley and... spy on the boss? Give Ellen a glamorous makeover, then "accidentally" run into the boss? Pretend Ellen is there with another man in order to make the boss jealous? Any of those scenarios would be believable. But no, Chris goes to Sun Valley ALONE and throws herself at the boss, figuring that will drive him back into Ellen's arms...huh? It might work if Chris were ugly and obnoxious, but Chris is beautiful and charming, so I don't get the point of what she's trying to do, let alone why Ellen agrees with this plan. Entertaining, but could have been so much better if Chris's plan made sense. Read full review
