Starts off with Somebody Mixed my Medicine, lots of undertones in video, not sure if glorifing or suggesting the drawbacks of drugs & excessive partying. Makes Me Wanna Die sounds like a suicide note set to music & very real & heart felt, You is quite beautiful makes one wonder which image is real (probably both), Show me to the Party sounds under the influence of various & sundry....Good singing/ vocals, good guitar, rhythm section & writing & let us no forget the to complement the drummer. Satanism (Sympathy for the Devil, N.I.B. older rebellious youth images, already been done, although not necessarily by a female artist), Lesbianism (rather explicit videos: she just did what? Was that rehearsed? Are them women really audience members?) provocative strip tease, sounds like a potentially great & unpredictable Rock'n'Roll band.Read full review

It has been a long, long time since any band got me excited. Since the first time I heard The Pretty Reckless I have continued to be impressed by the great songwriting, the incredible muscianship, and, above all, the phenomenal voice of the singer, Taylor Momsen. A great rock'n'roll voice is a rare gift and Ms. Momsen shows a range and phrasing that place her in the elite of rock. Most songs are kick-ass rockers, and I mean hard rock with attitude. Then you get an acoustic song that's nothing short of beautiful. Before buying I checked them out on youtube. The official videos of the studio versions are all fine, although they do seem more focused on the fact that the singer is also very attractive. Then I watched most of the songs done acoustic, where there is no production or enhancement to hide any weaknesses, and the songs still were astonishingly excellent. Then I watched live performances and once again The Pretty Reckless totally rocked. If you like real rock'n'roll, with a great band and a superlative singer, check out this album.Read full review

I am amazed at this album!! So tired of all the auto-tuned female singers out there. This girl has an amazing range on this album. I have also checked out the "acoustic" versions of many of the tracks and she carries them as well, if not better, vocally. I read some people say she was "trying too hard." If this girl and her group are NOT around for years, then the rock world truly is dead. This is not an overproduced, auto-tuned, mechanized, blahblahblah record. This is just grungy, gritty, rock and roll.
Great band debut
