I have both the lp and cd and it seems to me the LP is much better quality. I played the cd through my car's stereo with a subwoofer and it didn't sound as good as it did via my house stereo with the LP. There are several songs I like to crank it, and those will not ever sound bad. But with the whole album I had problems with clarity. and overall highs and lows. I have replaced all four speakers and my major cd's sound better, but theis one left me wanting more. I suppose you can have it all from one cd, and there will always be one or maybe two songs that don't turn your crank, and sometimes you just are disappointed.

Old greatest hits highlighted by Without You, Coconut, and Jump into the Fire. Not real familiar with most of the other songs but decent nonetheless.

I have always enjoyed this one. First released in 1971. It went gold. The song "Without You" won Grammy Award for the best single. The rest of the songs are equally above par. But my personnal favorite, in the Top ten of any song that I have ever heard is "Coconut". You know the one"I put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up, I put the lime in the coconut..." I also find the guitar work to be outstanding.
The CD functions flawlessly & has a good quality of sound when played. I would recommend this item to a friend.
I always really liked this album and now with it being remastered with bonus tracks and at a bargain price...I couldn't resist buying it any longer. A classic album from a true American original!! Definitely recommended along with the follow-up, SON OF SCHMILSSON. I bought that remastered CD when it first came out. I remember my brother giving me his copy of the record album back in the day because he decided he didn't like it and thought I might. He was right!
