Snark has a great reputation for their clamp on tuners. I bought this model strictly because I wanted the hertz feature. I tune a lot of different instruments, utilizing all the notes of the chromatic scale. This tuner only does the hertz feature on the six notes of the guitar, and the four notes of the bass, and that's it. If I had known that, I would not have bought it. I thought that the advertising implied that it did a hertz readout on all notes. So for all practical purposes, it is just a normal Snark tuner. And that is OK, except I wanted hertz readings on all notes, and this tuner does not do that.

This tuner doesn't have the capability to tune a lower setting only a 440 tuning.For the price it should have that capability. I do like the compact size though.If there were a middle rating box to select I would rate it there. I will say it functions great for 440 tuning. I rarely use this tuning due to voice range.This is the third snark brand tuner I've purchased. I think they are one of the better tuners available.I've never had a problem with any one of them! This is the newest version of the snark tuner that i have. The clip seems sturdier then some other versions and the indicator is easy to see. I have a couple other types of tuners from other makers but i always like the snarks.

The new pivot head design is an improvement , we'll see if it last better than the older design. The HZ function definitely makes a more accurate tuning experience. It is a drag that the strings have to all be tuned in a set order when I really just want to tweak one string back into pitch at a gig. It slows things down and could be implemented better. But all in all this is a step up from the old snarks which are nice too
