Ibanez AM53 TF Artcore Hollow Body Electric Guitar
I've only had the guitar for a couple of weeks, but so far I'm very pleased. It's my first electric so I wanted to keep it basic. The setup is good, strings low and easy to play; no buzzing and intonation is good. The neck is smooth and comfortable. I like the smaller body of the AM53 vs the AS53; very comfortable to hold. Fit and finish are very good for the price range. Pickups and controls function well.

Amazing quality for the price
I’m pretty happy with this little momma, came a day early thanks to GearTree, In a big box with the guitar inside it’s own box, the stand, cable, cloth, and even a really nice tuner! The guitar is absolutely gorgeous. The fret work is smooth and all the craftsmanship is really on point! Ibanez has always made quality instruments at a great price but this is a STEAL. The guitar came out of the box pretty much ready to play. The weight of it is incredible, it’s super light but still has a hefty feel to it, and is very well balanced. The tone controls were smooth and the pickup selector was crisp. The pickups (Infinity R by Ibanez) are really the biggest downfall to this guitar. They sound great, truly they do, but they lack that UMPH that a humbucker should carry. Overall, I have to say this is probably one of the best guitars you can buy for the price, especially if you’re looking for a 335 style guitar. Thanks GearTree for the quality service and for taking the pride to properly package this beautiful machine. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a beater guitar, a builder, a learner, or even something to tool around with on these snowy midwestern days.Read full review

Pro quality without the frills.
I've been a pro live player for nearly 50 years. This is my first Ibanez. I bought it just to have a 335 style axe for variety. When it arrived, and I unboxed it, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the fit and finish of the guitar. But the proof is in the playing. After playing it for a few hours and making a few minor adjustments to bridge height, neck tension, et al, I fell in love with it. Forget what people say about the pickups...they're just fine. A pickup is just wire and magnets, and all the hype about tone differences is just that...hype. Some pups are louder than others, but that's why amps come with volume and tone controls. Use 'em!. These pups are a nice "in between" of single coil "bark" and hummer "deep." Which makes this axe able to handle anything from jazz to country. I can't leave a good thing alone, so I mounted Hipshot locking tuners that I had in my parts box on it, a new Tusq nut, and found a perfect old Bowen Handle trem to mount on the TOM studs. Then I polished the frets, gave a file to the fret ends (some small fret sprout) and dressed them... now the beast is comparable to my Carvin DC-127 koa body $1500 guitar in ease of playability. I'm serious. This axe is a sleeper worth three times the cost. I especially like the fact that it only has one volume and one tone control...who has time to adjust FOUR knobs when playing live, right. This is easy to use, easy to reach, and the pots are just fine without scratch of slop.Read full review
