I’ve wanted one of these since they came out in the early 2000s! I also have an Ibanez Talman which cane out about 10 years earlier. The thing I love about the Jet King is that it reminds me of those Teiscos from the 60s I remember as a kid. The big difference is that the Jet King is playable! Don’t get me wrong, a classic Fender Strat or Gibson Les Paul it is not, but it’s light years ahead of the old school Japanese efforts. If you want a Japanese throwback axe that’s actually playable, the Jet King is the way to go! The action can be adjusted to any playing style and those coil splitting rocker switches are nuts! A humbucker AND single coil sound all in one! I’m so glad these are still affordable and would advise anyone thinking about one to pull the trigger and get them while you still can.Read full review

After having some repair and professional setup work done these are nice guitars. The neck was reshaped and worked over, tuners replaced, and exchanged tone and volume switches. Not to be compared with the older aria pro 2 or original RG series.....but nice. Pickups are really hot.....going to have change out for friendlier pickups like Demarzio. Like to play Paul Gilbert's tunes and it fits the ticket for small venues or home jam sessions just fine. Night and day difference after a setup and new Elixers on it. A richer more mellow set of pickups are needed by me...but if you do hard metal....should be just fine. I've outgrown the whammy bar stuff and gone to playing better by bending strings.
