The fifth edition also underwent major reorganization to streamline the very functional "Focus on" theme for drug use across the lifespan, cultural and gender considerations, evidence-based practice, patient teaching, herbal and alternative therapies and dosage calculations; a new box, "Focus on Safe Medication Administration;" and totally revamped "Drugs in Focus" table for each classification of drugs. In addition, we've expanded and updated content on psychiatric agents (includes new indications, cautions and precautions), and significantly expanded information on AIDS and therapeutic management. Nursing Pharmacology book
I was recently admitted into the nursing program in Texas. Focus on Nursing Pharmacology was one of the books required for the course, it is very descriptive and contains many examples of real live problems in it's case study section. I found a great deal on the book and I purchased it. I was dissapointed when I recieved the book because it was not the right book, the title and author were completely different. The pharmacology course that I am taking is very difficult & the book is very helpful, currently I am borrowing a friend's book but I would still like to purchase it because I will be using it as a reference. =)

An asset for the nursing student or practicing nurse.
This book is in excellent condition and has a vast amount of information for the practicing nurse. Also, this text book is a valuable tool for the nursing student. The book has multiple choice NCLEX questions at the end of each chapter. These questions help the reader absorb the book content. Would recommend you make this book part of your nursing book collection.
