This was perhaps the best album released by The King. Clocking in at just under 20 minutes actually does not leave the listener unhappy. Elvis Presley recorded this album before filming began just to see if the crew would tire of the tracks and in results gave The King a #1 Album ad another hit movie. What I like best about this soundtrack are the tracks and how they were arranged on the album. Stand out tracks include "Little Egypt","Hard Knocks","There's A Brand New Day On The Horizon" and "Poison Ivy League" the rest is very good filler. After years of listening to the album and ther scratches I decided to get the C.D. just to hear why I loved the soundtrack in the first place and the music sounds even better. This is a must for any fan of music when music was music. There is nothing I dislike about this C.D. "Roustabout" that I can even think of except a great soundtrack by a remarkable entertainerRead full review

Okay. Many fans dismiss a lot of Elvis' film songs, but this is really a nice exception to the rule. Catchy tunes, especially the first half dozen songs with only a few "filler" songs. I used to listen to this album all the time as a kid. Me and my sister got a kick out of "Little Egypt" imagining all those babies running around saying, "Ying, ying!" Too funny! Anyways, maybe I'm just waxing nostalgic about it, but I like this album.
