It's a must for any Elvis fan. If you liked the tv airing than you will love the DVD, it is over 4 hours long , two dvds . It gives a real insight on the man and legend ELVIS Presley, by the people that knew him best. From the very beginning all the way to his death, it covers it all. Even has bonus selection on the second dvd.

Understand this is an official EPE production, approved by Graceland, Priscilla & Lisa Marie... so you'll be watching a completely sanitized, one-sided, positive version of Elvis Presley. The only involvement of any Memphis Mafia members was Jerry Schilling, who's remained on good terms with PP & LMP. Although there's wide discussion of "his group of friends," none of them are interviewed or even have names mentioned. When Jerry Schilling said, "Elvis was a good husband," I rolled my eyes.

I thought this was wonderful. more inner momentswith the man, not only the "STAR", and by those who loved him for good or bad. This has many unseen and private, more intimate clips of Elvis and his "real" life. The only thing is , it tends to be biased towards the better parts of who he was.....but then, isn't that who we REALLY want to remember!?!?!?! It is more interested in the man than just the icon. In all his magnificience, we tend to forget, he was a son, husband, father, friend, relative and then he was OUR Elvis! Bigger than life to most but just a man, often troubled, to those close. Great DVD, Story and Star!!
This endeavors was one that was well thought out, highly questioned, and one that would bring up very painful memories. Priscilla Presley had to agree, Lisa Marie Presley would have had to agree and to try to tell a part of Elvis' story others (i.e. friends, loved ones, relatives, etc) would have to have input as well. Thankfully for Elvis Fans Worldwide they decided that THIS TIME was the right time to do the DVD. The DVD is filled with many clips of Elvis singing on ED Sullivan Show, Dorsey Brothers Show, Milton Berle Show, clips of his movies roles (jailhouse rock, loving you, etc.), and many of his concert appearances (including TTWIT and Elvis On Tour, Aloha from Hawaii, Singer 68 Special, and CBS Concert 1977. These clips play in accordance with the topic at the time (example is Priscilla is talking about divorce - Elvis sings Seperate Ways then Alwaysing on my Mind) or Priscilla is talking about Gospel Quartet (Elvis sings Peace in the Valley, etc.) This DVD "shines" when Priscilla is talking with her parents, or with Lisa Marie, or with Patsy Presley, or with Jerry Schilling. Priscilla smiles alot as the memories/clips of her getting married are replaed and she shows TRUE EMOTION. This DVD reaffirms Elvis Presley place as the Worlds Greatest Entertainer as well as the fact that Elvis Fans should give Lisa Marie Presley, Priscilla Presley, Jack Soden, Jerry Schilling, etc. much respect for this DVD and the unseen photos/videos. Contrary to tabloids Elvis, after their divorce, kept in contact with Priscilla and spent many hours on the phone or talking in person about their family and how hard it hurt Elvis to have lost Priscilla. Seeing her face, holding back tears, Priscilla conveys that (1) she loved Elvis (2) she loves Elvis and (3) she was not expecting Elvis to have such a difficult time when she left. In full disclosure I have always believed that their divorice took a huge tool on Elvis - what he thought of himself as a man - worrying about who she was seeing - worrying if Lisa was going to have a stepdad one day - these thoughs can take the strongest man alive and turn him into silly putty in days. Additional respect should be given to Priscilla as she looks squarely into the camera and says "I won't let them tarnish Elvis' memory. We owed Elvis that much". THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Priscilla Presley for those words and that passion. Jerry Schilling conducts himself gracefully, and respectfully, as he always has and his love for Elvis comes across as well. I do believe that even after these 33 years since Elvis died there has to be a RENEWED OPENESS and ACCEPTANCE between Priscilla, Lisa, EPE, Jack Soden, Jerry Schilling, Joe Schilling to incorporate/respect/appreciate/etc. Red West, Sonny West, Billy Smith, Marty Lacker, and Lamar Fike. I have THREE of Elvis interviews when he SPECIFICALLY states that he wants to make sure that his family, his friends, and his workers some he has known since high school are TAKEN CARE OF. This was one of Elvis' wishes and I know that there is some "bad blood" over who said what OR who did what but (a) time is running out and (b) the fans would LOVE IT and (C) it would ensure thatevery product was "finished" as it had imput from everyone still living who was there. I have seen quite a few Elvis DVD's and of course in that case you always see some clips you've seen before. I really liked this because its a lot more than just about Graceland. If you didn't like Priscilla you might change your mind after viewing this DVD. Priscilla has nothing but praise for Elvis but gives you an idea about how her married life was like. Anyway, I liked it and plan to buy another for a friend.
