I was averaging about 3 hours of sleep every night. I was having god awful dreams and the sound of my neighbor's bark dog pretty much destroyed my sleep pattern. My doctor want me to do a sleep study and take pills to sleep I said no. Relief came when I went to my chiropractor to get a neck adjustment. He asked me about my sleeping pattern I stated what sleep. He place me in his tranquility room. I said to myself this is nothing but an exam room. He pulled out this sound machine and turned out the lights the sound of rain falling put me to sleep and when I woke up I had slept for 8 full hours! I was amazed at how well I felt. So, I purchased this one because it is the same one my chiropractor used and I just love it. It has many different sounds, volume levels and a timer. Of course my favorite is still rain or sometimes the stream. My only problem is that anoying bright white light and sometimes at high volume the sounds become slightly tinny sounding. Otherwise, it is a sleep saver for such a cheap price.Read full review

I bought this for my Dad because I thought it would be a good stress reliever. Haven't given it to him yet but I have tried it out myself and it's average quality at best. Bear in mind that I'm not the target audience for this; I often dislike unnecessary noise. As for the product itself, the speaker sounds nice at lower volumes, but the quality diminishes at higher volume levels. The sounds vary from natural to ambient and there's a selection for everyone. Using it is simple. It's just a few buttons and you're on a beach or around a campfire. The headphone jack is nice, but on mine you have to force the plug to stay in place (I bought mine used). I haven't (and don't intend to) get much use out of it, but I believe it is something my father will enjoy and I'd recommend it if you can get it at a good enough price. For my own personal opinion, I'd prefer a higher quality machine (but I'd never pay that kind of money).Read full review
