I did a review of the Cort X-11QMBRB X Series which was awesome and these models are just as good! First all the good stuff: Great quality control on the part of Cort - guitar was set up properly and intonated. Neck was on straight and properly centered. Cosmetically, mine was perfect. The pickups are decent and wax potted. Came with D'Addario .09 strings which is what I use. The 2-point pivoting trem was set up with just 2 springs and plays exceptionally well with light fluid movement. No struggling with the whammy here. You can adjust string height two ways - saddles and the pivot posts of the trem which is really nice. Neck is outstanding and I like that they put in fin inlays instead of boring dots. I got this guitar playing super fast with no buzzing! Now, the minor stuff, but still good: I understand shipping can be expensive these days and Cort barely packs these guitars in a single triangular box. Very risky and both my Corts did survive the USPS. I would like to maybe see the guitars wrapped in a thin layer of bubble wrap for added protection. Now, the snake finish - very rare to see this, the finish has a texture to it. Bit of roughness, but nothing major although I lightly sanded on the upper body where my arm rests. No harm. The guitar has a very expensive look to it. I did upgrade to locking tuners and roller saddles which don't cost much these days and they keep the guitar in better tune. I also installed active EMGs which is my preference, but the stock pickups are decent. I think these guitars are close-outs. Mine had a factory inspection ticket from 2014. Really good guitar and I highly recommend at this cost!Read full review
