Dislike? One thing. The fact that it's not available as a DVD. The vhs is okay, but I would like it better in DVD form. If you liked GREASE and /or Elvis' early movies, you will LOVE this one! Peter Dobson plays and looks somewhat like a young Elvis in this one.(He also went on to play Elvis in a couple of movies). He dances great also. All of the talented singers and dancers are great here! Lorraine Bracco from the Sopranos, Patti LaBelle, Louise Lasser (remember Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman?) and other incredible performers put on a school play. Reminded me a bit of FOOTLOOSE story wise. The songs are original and likeable. Dobson's love interest (Jessica Steen) looks a lot like Julia Roberts back in her Mystic Pizza days! Believe me; this movie has a little bit of everything to please everyone! If it's available anywhere: rent it, or better still, BUY it! Why did I buy it? Brought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter who saw the movie years ago and feel in love with it. It a wonderful story of how a school closing can bring the community together, to bad we can't do this in real life with all of the school closing that we have now.
I got this because I saw the movie years ago and I wanted it on a dvd, but no one has it on dvd. So I got this one so that I can turn into a dvd. That way I will then have on a dvd.
