I abused this phone pretty good for a year then it was given to a young teen for another year and a half and despite the abuse it held up great. It's also a great phone to root and install custom (modern) firmware on. Screen quality was really nice and the speakers were top notch. The phone also had a decent camera. My only complaint was no removable battery. It's unfortunate we get that less and less because a spare battery is easier than a power pack to charge that battery.

First off, I did mark "yes" for good value, the price is very good --- when it was working. I had a Windows format HTC M8 for about three years, my first cel phone, did the job, though a little slow, but it did work, never had any issues with the phone, just slow compared to android. I liked the design and speakers on the HTC M8, so I purchased an HTC Android M8 last year , Feb. 2017. It worked fine, a lot faster on every feature --- and much more features. Then in Aug. 2018, it just went dead. Took it to a phone repair shop, they replaced the battery, that did not work, could not get the phone to turn on again, lost pictures, text info, etc. So I decided to purchase another Android M8 again, this time a purchased a two year warranty. Nov. 2018, I took several pictures of a job I was doing for doing to document the work and the issues, slid the phone back into my phone pouch, took it out abut 20 min. later to take more pictures, it's dead again!!! It did the same thing as my last phone, just died. I've tried to hard boot it, nothing works. Battery lite is off, same issue as the last M8, it is dead!!! lost more photos and text, messages/business info. Time to move on and get something else. I put my sim card back into my old windows phone, it keeps on working for a back-up phone. Now I have to deal with the warranty I purchased.Read full review

This is a very good phone. Find it online and buy it new on eBay for way less than from ATT. It will last about 18 months to two years if you take care of it. This is my 3rd one since this phone came out. It's all about the battery. How much you charge and what you do. I play games, read email, text, listen to music and charge about twice per day. Make sure you use the charger it came with. Sound is very good. No reason to upgrade to the M9 in this model. The price on this is great on average. Don't pay more than $200.

Item came in great cosmetic condition, as advertised. Phone functions as it should and is not carrier blocked. Battery life is very good lasting about a day on normal use. Dual front facing speakers are amazing and make the phone unique to others. Has bloatware that cannot be removed. Overall very satisfied with purchase.

The phone is unlocked and has GSM but you have to go through quite the rigamarole to get it set up for T-Mobile. ANd then, when you do, the data speed SUCKS. The only network I can get on it is E (Edge) most of the time, rarely have I seen 3g and 4g LTE is practically impossible. Maybe I"m doing something wrong but I've spent a lot of time trying to get it set up. If you have T-Mobile, get a T-Mobile branded phone. That is my lesson from this.
