I love the android os! Just wish it was a newer version...unfortunately my phone did not recieve the upgrade to version 1.6 and according to tmobile it is no longer available....otherwise I love the phone. Easy to operate and understand. I read up on alot of the forums about issues. If you purchase this phone don't use the samsung sd or a sandisk sd card and use a card that is at least class 4 or higher and this will save you the issues experienced with the sd card as well as some other issues I read about. Lots of fun and useful apps avaliable from marketplace and outside sources. Just look! Would recommend this phone for someone just starting off with android! As I am as well, it's a great beginner and if they come through with a new os it will be optimum for everyone!
Positive side: The compact Samsung Solstice II has well-rounded features, a responsive touch screen, and good photo quality from its 2-megapixel camera. Negative side: Samsung's Solstice II has a cheap-feeling chassis, the microSD card slot is located inconveniently behind the back cover, and there's no dedicated headphone jack. All in all it's just an ok phone for everyday use.
A decent almost smart phone. The built-in apps. are handy and pretty simple to use. The user interface is also intuitive. I like the touch screen, brightness, audio, photos. Size is great - very small. My wife is using this mostly for texting and calling, so we don't have an data package - perfectly fine for her use. What needs improvment - accepting a call - need to press the button down for a long time before it responds. This phone is an AT&T phone - we use T-Mobile. For text and calling, it's just fine, but the built-in AT&T specific apps. don't work. No biggie. Just sayin. Overall, I would recommend it for somebody that wants somethine light, small, simple to use, a few good apps. and a smarter phone than just some buttons to dial.
