bought a new triumph rod to see how i liked the baseline model before purchasing one of there more expensive models and to see how it would handle large stripers on the east coast. after one long weekend fishing hard, I noticed that two of the guides (made out of some sort of ceramic material) had multiple cracks. A positive note is that st croix has a great warranty and I should have my repaired rod back soon. Aside from the guides, this is a great feeling/casting/light rod and handled many big fish well.
