Whether you are hunting deer or shooting targets, the Mathews Genesis Original compound bow puts you in charge of these activities. With its featured camouflage color, the bow can accommodate draw lengths from 15 to 30 inches. The Genesis also adjusts, making it ideal for youth and adults of all heights and weights. The bow features a maximum draw weight of 20 pounds, making it fairly effortless to hold for most people. The Mathews Genesis compound bow has a lightweight design so that carrying it around isn’t physically taxing. The molded grip makes it easy to maintain your position when shooting the bow repeatedly. It features a stainless steel cable guard that helps protect your hands after shooting. The Mathews Genesis compound bow is available in left- or right-hand versions, and it comes strung and fully assembled right out of the box. These bows are made in the U.S.A. by Brennan Industries, and were sold under the Mathews brand for several years before becoming their own brand. The Matthews Genesis compound bows still maintain the same features as the original. The Mathews Genesis compound bow is now the official bow used by the National Archery in the Schools Program, making this the only bow that can be used during participation of this program. This is a program that introduces youth to the sport of archery. The Mathews Genesis compound bow comes set to its maximum draw weight of 20 pounds, so it may be necessary to adjust it for younger archers or yourself. This weight is comparable to a recurve bow of 35 pounds. These bows do not come with any accessories, such as arrows or quivers, so you will have to provide your own gear. This Genesis comes with a NAP flipper-style arrow rest that is straightforward and simple to use. The Zebra string comes nocked and features a temporary nocking point that is adjustable with the included 3/16-inch Allen wrench. The manufacturer recommends using Easton Genesis 2 30-inch length aluminum arrows. This is the type of arrow recommended by the NASP, but if you are hunting and not taking part in archery tournaments it’s fine to use any arrows that are 30 inches in length. The Genesis bow is unique because it features a single-cam design. The company advertises it as "the bow that fits everyone" because it doesn’t have a set draw length. You can pull the string back any amount, from a few inches for beginners to full draw for experienced users, and the arrow will fly strong and straight either way. You adjust the draw length to suit your physiology and strength while aiming down range. The Genesis cam configuration, for which the company has several patents, gives a constant and steady pressure throughout the draw with no let-off. Because the Mathews Genesis compound bow, or the Mini Genesis bow, comes with zero let-off and a light draw weight, it creates a bow that covers all the standard draw lengths. This bow can be used to shoot at targets, hunting, or archery tournaments and is a very versatile piece of gear.

Matthews Genesis Bow
We bought this bow for a family gift. We have a fairly wide range of shooters in terms of size. We didn't want or could afford a bow for each individual family member. The bow is of excellent quality. It is very simple to adjust draw length and tension when changing person to person. It is professionally crafted and can accept all accessories The bow well exceeded my expectations. The bow is a target bow. It will not meet the requirements as a hunting bow. In my opinion is a great family bow. It will be a very usable bow even as your family grows. It may very well be the only bow we ever need. If our needs change in the future and we grow into competition or hunting. Matthews will receive strong consideration due to the quality of their products

Excellent beginning bow.
This is the second Mathews Genisis that I have purchased for my son, on the advice of another parent who's child used one for amny years. They are extremely user friendly and are an excellent tool for teaching children. The fact that the bow has no let-off is a great traiing aid for transitioning to a recurve since it simulates the same action of draw and release. My wife is also new to archery so she inhereted the first bow after my son received his new one. (he switched to shooting left handed) They are bomb proof in construction and are readily accessorized. After a season of bare-bow, I added a whisker biscuit and a sight to my son's new bow. I would highly recommend this product due to the fact that the poundage is adjustable and will grow with your young archer. My son has had his since the age of 5 and he is now 9. Mathews Genesis bow....a great choice for family bow-shooting fun.
The Mathews genesis is a great target bow for young and old alike! It is a compound bow but there is no drop off like regular compounds. That means that the draw length is immaterial. It works just as well at 22 inches as it does at 29. That's great for backyard shooting sessions where the whole family can use the same bow. They come in a myriad of different colors and in right hand and left hand versions. This is a quality bow that will last through years and years of backyard fun!

Great Bow for all to use.
I bought this Bow for my daughters for Christmas, ages 16, 13, and 10. It is the same as the archery equipment available at school. They all have different draw lenghts and can all shoot this bow easily with out having to make adjustments between shooters. I like this bow because I can add sights and arrow rests as their shooting improves, also it can be shot with fingers or with a release. Overall I would rate this as a great bow for all ages. I would highly recommend this bow to any one looking to introduce someone to the joys of archery shooting.

The Genesis Mini is a winner!
I bought this for my 5 1/2 year old. I got the Genesis Mini. It has a lower adjustable draw wieght. Compared to the Genesis model. It is built to last forever. Right out of the box, it worked great. If i got the regular genesis, the draw wieght would have been to much. It cost more than some other youth bows. But, this one will last forever. My 2 1/2 year old already can't wait for his turn.
