Things that are liked: very easy bow to shoot. Great for a beginner to pick up and learn due to it's low cost and versatility. Great camo scheme. Fairly quiet, especially if you get a set of string silencers. Very nice groupings for an outdated bow. shoots both carbon and aluminum arrows nicely Things I disliked: Uncomfortable grip made from some kind of synthetic rubber that wraps around and leaves a 1/4 inch gap where it does not touch. cheap flimsy rest often needs to be replaced. Very heavy bow and not compact by any means. Stock pin sights are kind of a pain to adjust. Overall I think this bow is great due to it's cost I paid 30 bucks for one and can't complain really. all my gripes can easily be fixed with the exception to the weight of the bow. I would recommend for a beginner-intermediate bow hunter.Read full review
I bought my Bear WhiteTail II in 1994 at Close Out price of $99. Bear Archery Co. had ceased production of this model and Distributors were selling 'em FAST. It didn't take much practice to hit bulls eyes every time at 20 yards. But when I switched from shooting with a leather tab to a Release Aid in 1995, my shooting became even more accurate. I've taken several deer with this bow. Despite its age and older design - I'm KEEPING my WhiteTail II. Its reliable and fun!! I recommend this compound bow with only a few reservations: 1) no new replacement parts are available from Bear 2) this bow is longer and heavier than latest & greatest 2011 models which may affect women & kids. A good bow whether beginner or experienced. I now have two, one's mine and the other is my son's. We're having a blast with them and can hardly wait to start hunting with them. Once sighted in to the person, these bows are very accurate. They're a little large when compared to newer models, but I like the more traditional look. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a bow that's affordable...but deadly!
I use to have a bow of this nature, a few years back. I love the style of shooting it does. I also love the purchase. The bow was in excellent condition and the price was amazing. The bow shhot clean and has no defects what so ever. I would buy another one. Hoping to keep this one and pass it down to my kids when they are big enough to shoot it after a youth bow. In all i was 100% satisified with everthing.
Nice bow sturdy and user friendly.
