This model is an accurate scale reproduction of a 1957 Ford Custom. This car was the sleeper of the Ford model line-up, the Fairlane being the top of the line model that year. My grandmother bought a new 1956 Ford Customline with an inline six cylinder and a three speed manual transmission which I inherited in the late 1960's when she bought a new Ford Fairlane. Once I swapped out the six for a junkyard Thunderbird 312, I won most of the stop light grand prix races, but it was very hard on the tranny. Most takers didn't see it coming. This model is as close as I could get to that car. This scale model is quite accurate, comes with a V8 engine and the requisite "dog dish" hubcaps. I painted mine with ScaleFinishes Bermuda Blue over Colonial White which are 1956 Ford colors just as mine was. I Bare Metal Foiled the trim and it really looks the part. Follow the directions and it's an easy build. It was painted first and then assembled with Faller Expert glue. I finished the interior in two tones of gray. Wish I still had mine, but if wishes were horses, I'd be living in a stable.Read full review
