It prevents the hair from going down the drain. Love it! Only complaint is that it should be slightly smaller or bigger for better fit on tiled floor shower (around metal drain transition to tile) but it still works great.

Unfortunately, the spray from the shower head moves it off the drain and you have to constantly move it back with your feet. No matter how the shower head is positions, the flood of water moves it off the drain. This may work if your shower drain is offset and not centered.
