Greatest irons I have owned to date. Great look and great feel. When I first picked the irons up to swing, I came across what I felt was a little more weight to the head than some other ultra long distance irons out there. This is a good thing. I love being able to feel the club head throughout the swing and that is one thing I really liked about the Pro Cavity irons. You just get a good sense of having a solid iron in your hand and that really builds up the confidence before you even begin to swing the club. I mentioned the thicker top line and how I really don’t mind it, for me this set really helped promote my confidence without robbing me of any of the feel that I really like in an iron. Sure they’re no blade; you do sacrifice some feel for forgiveness here but not nearly as much as you’re accustomed to with game improvement irons of the past. Recently THP held the annual THP Outing and Demo Day, the Nike VR Pro Cavity irons were a part of that demo day and our forum members had this to say about them: “The ball feels great off the face and just explodes……high and straight.” TC “The Pro Cavity irons really stood out for me. Great looking irons with a clean yet modern look. The performance was very good as well. Nice, powerful feeling with a high trajectory. The ball really jumps off the face with a solid feeling that makes you feel like you’re really compressing the ball.” Hanks “Great feeling iron with a classic shape and look at address. Pretty decent amount of forgiveness considering how nice they look at address.” AHA “These irons were good. I liked the ball flight and the forgiveness of the iron. Turf interaction was as you would expect from a larger soled iron, and the sound and feel of a well struck shot was fantastic.” CoolbreezeRead full review
Irons are NOT for distance. Irons are for distance CONTROL! Last few sets of irons I have used had graphite shafts because as a senior golfer I figured that was appropriate. Surely the PW went 110+ yards but distance dispersion was unpredictable. So it dawned on me to get a steel shafted set. After lot of reading and research, I settled on Nike VR pro cavity irons with Dynalite 90 shafts in regular flex. They have clean look, the heads are not clunky looking or gaudy looking, offset is slight which I like, and the shafts are lightest offered by Nike as standard option in steel. I ordered them from GolfSmith customized to 2 deg flat and Lamkin stingfree grips. The swingweight is wonderful since I can feel the head all through my swing. That smooths out my swing. I am getting high trajectory and excellent distance control. Looks like these will stay in my bag for a long time.Read full review
I have played about 3 rounds of golf with these clubs and I am so glad that I listened to our local pro when he advised me to swallow my pride and get rid of the blades. While the weight distribution has taken a little time to get used to, I am still able to shape shots and hit the ball different trajectories. These have the look of a forged club but provide the forgiveness that a partial cavity is supposed to. Great Job Nike thinking of all levels of golfers once Again! Next is making the switch from my Titleist driver to the new VR Pro. Will let you know the details later!!!
Needed new grips on my old, but just as chep to buy new one. I am very pleased with my new Nike vr pro cavity. I was afraid that there wheren't enought waight in the head, because they fellt light headed, but no they look good and feel very nice. Not as soft feel as my old soft titleist mb irons, but nike vr is allso ordinary steel. Only one minus. I can see from the top a littel offset. Not used to that. One very happy owner of Nike vr pro cavity irons:-)
Bought these clubs after a demo day at my local shop. I'd used Taylor Made R7's prior and was looking for a new iron set. These Nike Pro Cavity Irons lure you to them with the clean lines and great look at set up. I purchased a set custom fit and have been very pleased with the distance over the old and forgiveness on off center hits. I think Nike has the club to beat in this category!
