This season was definitely affected by Sarah Jessica Parker's pregnancy, which led the show to drop some 5 planned episodes and have only 8 for the entire season. They tried to tie up the loose ends, but you can see where some storylines were shortened abruptly. As one example, (SPOILER FOLLOWS) Charlotte's divorce, which seemed to wrap up super-quickly with Trey's telegram. I am sure they planned to have a lot of Charlotte/Bunny confrontations (and maybe bring back Kyle MacLachlan) and give Charlotte and Harry more airtime because they became a couple rather quickly. Still, even shortened, the season had some very enjoyable episodes--like Luck Be an Old Lady, where they visit Atlantic City, and I Love a Charade, where they question their supposedly gay friend's wedding to a woman. (I've always wondered about the marriages of a couple people I know! : ) Overall, a great addition to your collection.Read full review
You could see from the storylines here the show was ending & the storylines reflected it. This is the show that started the now long string series on HBO. Why was the show not done in widescreen HBO? My favorite character is Samantha. Why, for the most part she is honest & tells it like it is. Yes, she does lie but it is her responses, to the point, not mincing words. Took till season 4 for her to really get a male friend Richard/her boss. Remember to send your best. And, that it ended We get to meet Jerry/Smith. Liked the character. HATED IN MOVIE 1 WHEN THEY ENDED THE RELATIONSHIP. He was the best thing to happen to her. Least favorite Charlotte. Everything has to be a certain way. If a piece of gum got stuck to the bottom of a shoe she would call a cab & run into her apartment to take a shower. She thought herself so much better than others but she slept around without a thought. We get to meet Harry. Always liked the character. BUT CHARLOTTE PUSHING FOR MARRIAGE, PUSH, PUSH. Becoming a Jew, come on Please Charlotte try just being Kristin Davis did a great job with the character but still my least favorite of the girls. Carrie. You like her 1 minute, the next you do NOT. She is high end to but won’t cook for herself The clothes & shoes were a big deal on the show YET IN A LOT OF THESE OUTFITS HER BRA STRAPS HUNG OUT Now, we get Berger. Hands up who hated the character? I SEE SO MANY HANDS. Wimp, bad guy. Hated the character. Miranda She was smart but easy. Liked her views sometimes the next you did not. Steve, the baby and Robert. Did NOT understand the Robert character. Good looking guy just falls for Miranda & in love with a cookie I never cared for the Steve character but still Robert was unnecessary A short season due to pregnancies so we viewers were cheated. HBO should be ashamed of themselves NOW WHY I HATE THESE DVD PACKAGES These horribly designed flop open cases. In information in these on episodes, no extras.Read full review
This is a very funny interesting series about single women in New York and relationships/sex. You never know what is going to happen next. Sarah Jessica Parker and her friends experience the relationships/sex life of New York city. They laugh, they cry, learn new thing about themselves, and try to find love. I like this because it breaks taboos and discusses real issues 30 something women have in the dating world. The only thing that may detore you from buying it, is the amount of nudity in this show. It is not suitable to watch this with children nearby. Other than that call the girlfriends over and have fun watching, laughing, crying, and discussing what this show is about...sex! Also if you liked this you might also try "The L word" its like a lesbian sex in the city. PLEASE CLICK IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW TO BE HELPFUL OR NOT, THANKS!Read full review
