This is definitely the most detailed and well made kit for the price. Yes, it may seem expensive, but the only two real alternatives are the De Agostini (which runs about $2000) and the Fine Molds kit (which is only marginally cheaper than the Bandai). The Fine Molds kit, while excellent at the time of release, is a much older tool and is neither as detailed or as accurate. Extensive decals are provided, and there are a ton of parts. Most of the greeblies and pipes are molded separately. Lighting is in included in this model, as are seated figures and options for gear and ramp down. There's some internal details, though it's limited to cockpit, turrets, and the ramp area. A stand is included as well. As with most Bandai kits, it is press fit and no glue required, though some parts should probably be cemented just in case. If you take your time, have some tools, and are able to do some basic weathering, you can make a very nice replica out of the box. Look up some tutorials- there's plenty of videos on this kit. One important note: this is the 'original' Perfect Grade. There is another kit that is slightly cheaper but is the 'Standard Edition' Perfect Grade. That kit does NOT have the LED lighting kit and includes stickers instead of waterslide decals. In my opinion, it is totally not worth the $30 or so you save. Be careful what you buy; many listings do not make it very clear. The box looks different for these two variants which is the best way to tell.Read full review

The Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon is an absolute masterpiece. If you are a Star Wars fan and modeler, even if you normally would not consider building a sci-fi model, treat yourself to this one! You can actually look over the surface detail of the parts and recognize the mish mash of different model parts that were used to create the original as Bandai has faithfully reproduced those parts in 1/72. A truly stunning model!!

The kit is everything I was looking for in the way of detail, size and functionality. It is on the pricey side but you are getting absolutely the best quality kit available on the market. If you are looking for something that won’t break the bank then the 1/144 scale Falcon is still very well detailed for the money. Basically anything from Bandai you will be happy with.

This is by far the best falcon model I've worked on. I've build it in many scales and this is just fantastic. But that said its not for the faint hearted. 698 pieces make it very complicated so theres alot of backwards and forwards with planning how to paint it while your building it. But I love it.
