Black & Decker's lithium cordless tools pack enough power to get the job done and will hold a charge, even for months, while waiting to be used. The Matrix drill adds to this functionality with an assortment of interchangeable heads that instantly transform it from a conventional drill to a jigsaw, reciprocating saw, trim saw, detail sander, impact driver or router in seconds. Some of these tools may be more practical than others but the flexibility is remarkable.

Burned 2 drills up making a deck. Had to buy used Ryobi drills to finish. These are fine for putting together furniture or some other light duty stuff, seemed perfectly fine for the year we had it before I decided to build a deck. . When these "choke" don't keep holding the trigger down like a hammer drill, even with the hammer drill attachment. Sinking anything more than a drywall nail is asking for trouble eventually.

I bought this product because I am interested in the Matrix system and building out a tool set for less than $100+ per tool. With my time so far with the drill (limited that it is) I am excited about the possibilities. I have not purchased any additional pieces yet, but based on other reviews I would recommend at least the sander. The drill has a great grip and weight, and the torque settings provide good protection from striping screws if adjusted correctly. The price from B&D outlet was awesome as well, try buying a worthwhile drill, with 20v Li-On battery for $35 elsewhere. The two characteristics of this drill that I don't like are the lack of LED light and the hump on the top. Unlike most drills today there is no light of any sort so if you will be using this in dark spaces often then this could become a major disappointing feature omission for you. The other problem I have with this particular design is the large hump on the top due to the Matrix interchangeable design. This makes it a little bit more difficult to get the drill into tight places. If you are going to be using this device with the Impact Driver attachment this could be particularly troublesome, as many times you need to get the tool into tight spaces. Those two caveats aside, I would recommend this drill for most people and especially someone who is looking to build out their tool set or someone who would like to be able to carry around a large collection easily.Read full review
I like the the drill. I bought the third one to replace the drill chuck on number 1. The chuck stripped out, I tore it apart to see why. The best I could conclude, was poor greasing . I guess I should pull it apart every now and then to re grease. The main part is working very well. Has plenty of power for lighter work. All in all I think it's worth while.

I have the sawall,1/4 impact and drill attachments. Pleased with them all. I wouldn't want to use it everyday but for the normal home owner/occasional handyman i dont think you could get a better or simpler system. You dont have to invest in each tool alone. Heads switch out easy. Craftsman bolt attachments work on this also.
