Out of all of the Star Trek: The Next Generation films, First Contact is the best example of Jonathan Frakes's directing and the cast's acting. The idea of the Enterprise E traveling back in time to follow a Borg vessel is intriguing. [SPOILER ALERT] Patrick Stewart plays his role as Captain Picard beautifully, and brings his character back down to earth with his nervous breakdown in the captain's ready room. The BluRay restoration is fantastic and brings new light to this great film.
I'd say this is the best of all the Star Trek movies, and this is coming from a fan of the original series and cast. The Blu-Ray transfer looks and sounds great.

This was a truly impressive movie at the time with an astounding story, amazing villain, creepy takeover of the enterprise by Borg, and plus a dopey story about the inventor of warp drive. A decade or two later it holds up well except the two Enterprise crewmembers ride in the test ship seems too corny to be believed and the Vulcans looks ridiculous. The queen is still amazing though and she carries the show. Probably the only Star Trek movie worth owning on BluRay except for Kahn and the new one.
