This is a new and not yet used product so review is based on first impression. It appears to be well built and smartly designed I am impressed by the funnel design. I did take the time to fill the container and then us it to fill a gas tank. The funnel system actually works as intended with no leaks. Additionally the vent system is well designed and over all I believe that this will be a long lasting durable choice.

The shut-off concept is OK, but I find it cumbersome to use effectively. My basic No vote for quality has to do with the assembly of the spout. My first try caused gas to leak all over my generator even though I tightened the spout overly so (I have strong hands). I inspected the spout and discovered what looked like a missing O-ring for the can side of the spout flange, but it turned out that the rubber gasket (no O-ring) has an inner groove so that the gasket can fit over the spout flange. It was improperly installed and thus leaked like a sieve. I fixed that. My second can had the gasket installed properly. I elected to remove the valve and spring from both spouts so that I don't have to struggle with the auto-shutoff concept. Both cans are now satisfactory to me. I do not recommend them though - too much hassle.Read full review

Someone thought they were clever and tried to design a new and better spout from the ground up. They didn't. Spout operation is complicated. Requires "burping" because there is no air vent. If you pour to fast or at to steep an angle expect fuel everywhere! LEAKS, LEAKS, LEAKS! Bought 3 cans, all do the same thing, so it''s not a single defect in a single can. Even when you hold it exactly right, it is barely a dribble. Over three minutes to empty a small can. DO YOUR RESEARCH! I didn't, and got hosed...LITERALLY.

Blow-molded can seems to be good quality and well made. Spout is completely useless. Does not vent. Takes forever to empty the can into a fuel tank. Complicated spout design with external plastic spring. Weight of half-empty can is not enough to keep the spout open. This requires unlocking the spout again to shove can down. Pinched fingers almost guaranteed.

Seems like a fairly solid tank. The seams on the side do stick out so that may cause fit issues in some holders. The main cap and seal are very tight. The spout however leaks, but the build quality is slightly off so it may be hard to really get it attached correctly because nothing really guides the seal so it lines up. Still, compared to those "safety" fill valves they have on the plastic tanks now I really prefer this larger metal one. Safety warning : As with all sealed fuel tanks, if a tank is sealed, and you open it up you will release fuel Vapor Under Pressure so stand clear and make sure there's nothing flammable in the area. More vapor and higher pressure will build up as the more empty the tank is and hotter it gets. That's also why you don't fill the tank past the full mark. But even in the Texas sun so far it seems safe and capable of handling the load. Read full review
