If you love jazz, you love Miles Davis, trumpeter and leader of his second great jazz quintet. Tribute is a masterpiece of course but to the casual listener is not as accessible as other works. It's audacious, experimental, and rock-jazz, a soundtrack to the film. The album definitely remembers the 70's. Again, only reason I'm not rating it excellent is that it just isn't as accessible to the casual or mainstream listener. Listen to some of Miles' earlier albums and then try this one.
This iS a Miles Davis classic as he was entering the jazz fusion era. It is a must buy for any jazz and Miles lover.
