This is a fantastic CD. I'm an older gentleman, but during the last few years I've been working on a Female Artist Collection of CD's from: Bessie Smith,Big Mama Thornton,Madonna,Tina Turner,Janis Joplin,Gladys Knight,Irma Thomas,Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker,Ella Fitzgerald,Bulgarian Women's Choir,Joni Mitchell, Allison Krauss,Rosanne Cash....etc...etc... I'm not sure how extensive it will be ultimately as there are so many fine Female Artists that catch my ear....but grows it does and this CD has been a very welcome addition. I've always enjoyed Cyndi Lauper's music and thought this set would be an excellent inclusion to my quest of finding strong passionate performers who have an original sound and soulful delivery. If you know Ms. Lauper's music you will enjoy this CD very much. If you are not familiar with her, then this is a great way to get acquainted with her artistry. Every song is strong...no filler..great backup musicians and arrangements. Bravo 5 StarsRead full review

I loved Cyndi Lauper 20 years ago and this CD reaffirmed for me how great she is. Strong vocals, great lyrics, moving emotionally, and wildly fun. This CD contains some of Cyndi's best work. My children enjoy the lighter/fun songs best. My husband likes the hard-driven vocals and the lyrics on "I drove all night" best. I find the lyrics to "I Drove all Night", "Sally's Pigeons", and "I'm Gonna be Strong" to be strongly moving. Only song that I disliked at first: Hey Now, the Remix of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. It is no longer bothersome for me to listen to, but I prefer the original (also on this CD).
12 deadly Cyns showcases Lauper's talent and standing as an 80's pip icon and then some. The dance hall version of her anthem smash Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and techno dance Come on Home are great additions to the collection of hits.

Cyndi Lauper's 12 Deadly Cyns And Then Some is an excellent album for Lauper fans. I love the play on the word sins with the way that it is spelled in the album title. This is basically a greatest hits album with a few new things thrown in, like the new version of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". I love the songs, since I listened to these songs and danced to some of them. A friend had the album and loaned it to me.. after listening I knew I had to get my own copy. If you like Cyndi Lauper and don't have this album, you should get it.
I remember enjoying the sounds of cyndi Lauper during the 80s. This CD has all my favorite songs of her on it. A good mixture of girly pop with some serious female vocals.
