I'd dropped out of The Church after the Priet=Aura album but recently went back for a listen. Starfish...Excellent. Gold Afternoon Fix...Really clean sound with a few great tracks. Priest...better than I remember it with cosmic sounds & themes. So I picked up a couple more recent albums (Uninvited, and SometimeAnywhere) but After Everything really hits the spot, start to finish. The After Everything track has been in my head for 3 weeks. The Night Friends track is mysterious yet comforting. The final track, Invisible, gets you humming and wishing you could remember all the words. Great sound and variety in the tempo of the tracks but beginning to end a stunning and balanced work. A prolific band keeps cranking them out, man are we lucky.
Ethereal experience.

Slow, mellow, and above all very melancholy. Near the end the songs start running together a bit because they lack musical diversity. Still, this is a very enjoyable album and perfect for a quiet reflective evening. 4 Stars.
