Notes
Dharma John grew up in Georgia listening to the musical influences that are reflected in his latest release 'Raja Had Mink On'. These include the genres Rock, R&B, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, and Jazz. With the arrival of the 'British Invation' in the mid-Sixties to America, the urge to emulate The Beatles and other British Bands prompted DJ to begin his long musical journey. Beginnning as a Vocalist in the Sixties, a Bassist in the Seventies, and a Keyboardist in the Eighties, the process continues today with a fascination for sound design and rhythms. DJ first encountered Buddhism In the early Eighties at Naropa Institute (now Naropa University) in Boulder, Colorado. The Institute was founded by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and teaches a Contemplative approach to Education. DJ studied Buddhist Psychology, Buddhist Studies, and Art. That experience is reflected not only in the expression of the album, but the message as well: 'Wake Up!' Dharma John wrote the album as a way of expressing his experience. May it be a benefit to all who hear it. Peace.
