Les Voyages de L'Ame is French for Voyage of the Soul. No single moment on this album will stray far from being just a blissful celestial voyage. Every second is just a wave of atmosphere and beauty that no other band can do as well as Alcest. Alcest is a black metal band that basically decided to stray from the typical misanthropic/gore lyrics of black metal and more on to uplifting and spiritual lyrics. The style definitely still maintains a strong distorted and raw sounding black metal layer beneath its perfected and atmospheric shoegaze style. The end result is the best album I've heard in a long time. And for the third album by this band, its still fresh. I also strongly recommend the preceding album entitled Ecailles de Lune.
