This import CD consists of tracks recorded in a studio in 1978 and 1981 direct to disc before a selected audience in Tokyo. Anita is at the top of her form as a song stylist with Black Coffee and Angel Eyes evoking a haunting bluesey film noir, upbeat scatting There Will Never Be Another You, great improvisation on many like You'd Be So Nice To Come Home To, sassy tempo on My Heart Belongs to Daddy, and using her voice as a piano with brilliant scatting on seldom sung Afternoon in Paris. Wonderful piano accompaniment by Dwight Dickerson and Don Abney with stylings of John Poole on drums. This is a rare CD, and if you can find it, highly recommended.
