Notes
'Things You Left Behind' is the highly anticipated EP from country/soul recording artist and New Jersey native Apryl Evans. Recorded at the John and Martina McBride-owned Blackbird Studio in Nashville, Tennessee (which boasts a client list like Jon Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney - just to name a few), 'Things You Left Behind' is a journey into the heart of an artist who lays it all out on the line. And while it may seem unlikely that a girl from the garden state would be singing country music, one listen to her voice and you'll understand exactly why there is no other genre this Jersey sweetheart belongs in. I think Apryl says it best when she says, 'Country music is an attitude, not a zip code.' 'Things You Left Behind' was produced by Grammy- Award winner David Hall and features quite a who's-who list of musicians that played on the EP, including Tommy Harden on drums, Jim VanCleve on fiddle, Matt Pierson on bass, George Cocchini on guitar, and Jeff Roach on piano and keys. A simple Google search of all of these musicians will return a list of results that would impress just about anyone. Reba McEntire fans may recognize Harden as Reba's go-to drummer, while Ne-Yo fans may have seen Roach's name on his latest release entitled 'R.E.D.' You may have even seen Grammy-Award winner Jim VanCleve playing with The Band Perry or with his own band Mountain Heart. And the list goes on and on... Evans' sound is a beautiful and unique blend of country and neo-soul and this EP showcases exactly what she can do. And working with award-winning songwriters didn't hurt either. Rachel Thibodeau and Jason Sever were huge contributors to the songwriting on the EP. Thibodeau and Sever have written for a slew of country music greats, including Martina McBride, Luke Bryan, Dustin Lynch, Billy Currington and so many more. Not to mention that each of these songwriters lent their voices to the background vocals heard on Apryl's EP. 'Things You Left Behind' is just the beginning of what you will hear from recording artist Apryl Evans. The future is bright for this rising star.
