Band should've continued sticking to their guns on this album instead of partially caving in to needless mainstream pandering at the time of its release. So-called "bonus" tracks at the end told me what I had already suspected by then, too: that they were on the verge of losing their very identity as a self-contained group of extremely competent songwriters and musicians. Fortunately, 'Life's Aquarium' was the last time they would ever attempt such a foolish stab at commercial success and for that I'm truly grateful as a longtime fan of their work. That said, there's still enough quality material within to warrant adding it to your Mint collection regardless (though if it were left up to me, I would delete AT LEAST 3 tracks from the original set list that came off sounding like half-baked studio throwaways and make those 2 previous bonus tracks their viable replacements for good measure).Read full review
