I really Like this album Because it shows volta trying new things and Different directions. It Still is no Deloused But lyrically it is probably one of the more complex albums. Slow songs are a key piece with this album. Even in them it feels like when the rest of the band is taking a break Cedric is still Belting it out. The new drummer is insane also. Eventhoe all music is written by Omar He plays with insane percission. if you are a fan of Volta than it is a definite Buy but if it is your first time I would pick De-Loused or Amputhechture. All in all i give this record a 4.5 out of five. Volta Is the Bomb.
The Bedlam In Goliath is a masterpiece, groundbreaking, concept album by The Mars Volta, a band that just gets better and better with each passing album. The Bedlam In Goliath details the horror store the band experienced with a Ouija Board. The Tracks are incredibly well produced and the music is genius with guest guitar work of Red Hot Chili Pepper "Guitar God" John Frusciante playing on one side of the speaker and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez on the other the effect is amazing! Not to mention the addition of child prodigy drummer Thomas Pridgen, who beats away furiously and with amazing articulation and intensity. The album needs to be listened the entire way through at least once before you can just start listening to individual tracks, otherwise it losses some effect. Overall the album is genius and every track is unique if you liked Frances The Mute, and Amputecture you surely wont be disappointed with The Bedlam In Goliath!Read full review

Very Avante garde progressive rock complete with long instrumental sections involving a series of time signature changes. In a nut shell, A collective of accomplished musicians playing what they love with a complete disregard for commerical appeal. Heard a review for the record on N P R deceided to buy it and was glad I did.
