When I was 13 Y / O. My best friend John King from Collierville, TN and I Would spend hours playing the main guitar rift from Smoke on the Water, with our beginner box top guitars. What a memory. Every kid should try to figure out on their own how to play an instrument. I did have formal drum lessons from a pro drummer , but I learned guitar on my own by music books. I woke up one Saturday night after the midnight special had been on, to Joe Walsh playing lead for the EAGLES, I new then I would play guitar with or without lessons. So I did just that!
