I'll start off by saying that thaere are good and bad remasters...and I usually lie Ryco remasters. On this one, I'm a bit dissapointed I'll start off by saying that there are good and bad remasters. I usually like Ryco remasters. I am a bit disappointed wih this one. Yes, Dio's vocals are done nicely, and the bass and drums are very improved, but Tony Iommi's heavy guitar is very subdued and almost relegated to the background. Disappointing. I mean, what is Black Sabbath? Don't get me wrong, Geezer and Bill are phenominal, but it is Tony's power chords of doom that make this band Sabbath! I was expecting more.
Their is a huge difference between the album and the cd concerning sound quality. Just never enjoyed the cd of this album very much...it always sounded flat to me. When i heard about the remaster i thought id give it a try, sure glad i did,Sounds great! Sonicly warm and rich like i remembered the album to be. Also picked the remaster of Mob Rules it also sounds greatly improved.
Brand new, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell. AWESOME CD! One of my favorites.
