I bought this cd for my wife as she likes to listen to this type of music around this time of year, she thinks it is festive and cheerful, the carols on the cd are all well known and she likes it very much,we have bought a few Ritchie Blackmore cds from e-bay abd she thought this one would be very festive, and would recommend it
Jolly good music. Pity about the airbrushing of Christ, but perhaps that makes it appeal to more folk.

I discovered Blackmore's Night purely by accident three years ago after searching for works by Ritchie Blackmore. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ritchie Blackmore is a fantastic accoustic guitarist and writes honest and traditional music with his partner Candice Night. This is one of many Blackmore's Night albums I have purchased and had the pleasure of seeing them at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham in June 2007. This album is chock full of traditional Christmas Carols arranged in Mr Blackmore's own inimitable style and give the carols a new lease of life. Despite the fact that it is a Christmas record. I often listen to it at any time just to lift my spirits. If you're going to buy this album, and I thoroughly recommend it, then get Village Lanterne as well. You've never heard Deep Purple's Child in Time done like this before. As a gutarist myself and have enjoyed some success of my own, I can say that Ritchie Blackmore has got better with age and I am now a renewed fan. Candice's voice must also be mentioned as it is as haunting and beautiful as her looks. Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant.Read full review
Traditional christmas songs get the fresh Blackmore's Night treatment, with melodic lyrics combined with tasty guitar work. You could cheerfully listen to them all the way through the festive season - plus the added bonus of a few of their best tracks. Definitely one of the favourite CD's in my collection!
aware of Ritchie Blackmore from Deep purple, rainbow. I was wanting a christmas cd which was not too poppy but not choir like, something different This was more a folk group type of cd, suprisingly very good the female vocalist is excellent, and the music is a pleasant change, not being too loud to drown out the singer musically excellent. Only complaint is wish there were more tracks on the cd.
