"Passenger," the third installment from Danish Modern Metallers MNEMIC, (Mnemonic/akronym stated above in title, "Mnemic" being Latin for Memory)their first featuring new lead singer Guillaume B. formerly of French Grinders, Scarve (check them out too). The music stylistically is difficult to describe within the metal genre, utilizing harsh, thumping, polyrhythms hard for even the most skilled rhythmist to tap out, chugging guitars courtesy of Mircea and Rune's affinity with Meshuggah-style Math Metal, along with synth-guitar melody being filtered with samples, spoken word, multilayered vocals and pristine drumming/basslines... Mnemic are hard to touch let alone play.. This cd funnels a righteous culmination of all aspects that Mnemic draw from, including metaphorical lyrics, some catchy hooks without trying to sell cheesy sing-a-longs it will take one a while to TRULY digest and appreciate this work. Keen Production from Fear Factory's own Christian Olde Webers helps their sound shine and pound like never before. From the opening track "Humanaut" it is easy at first to spot; these guys are nuts!! With Mircea's ridiculous spoken word/synth madness opening, then from the following "The Nothingness Black" how they bounce back to a little bit of sonic sanity, whilst continuing to pulse out jazz-ish triplets and rhythms in a catchy manner rather than confusing, much not the same as other Math Metal forerunners MuDvAyNe or Meshuggah... The album holds strong with political and interpersonal relationship themes as all being the forefront of modern media these days, with subtle reference to their little signifigance within the big picture of the universe, as addressed in the third and fourth tracks, "Meaningless" and (the aptly titled,) "PsykoOrgasm" while the rest of the album strays and embilishes the theme through the odd endish last song, "The Eye on Your Back" the listener is left wanting more, either pick up their first two albums, "Mechanical Spin Phenomena" and "The Audio Injected Soul" or give "Passenger" another spin, if you like your music technical, skillfully played, or just plain METAL, if you're not an idiot you will LOVE MNEMIC!!! And they especially RULE YOU in a live setting! Thanks for reading! -William ThompsonRead full review

Every song is heavy and has its own unique quality to it. They are truly underated in todays music. If you enjoy listening to Soilwork and genres like that, then this is a MUST buy cd!!!!!
Passenger from Sweden's Mnemic is good. The first 4 tracks are the best on the disc.I think the rest is filler and doesnt live up to the bands other releases.
