Sorta in tune with a George Carlin joke about Italians as engineers, I went looking for a tweak on what's become "dark metal standard", hoping for some departure from northern domination. To love are harmonized bass arrangements and convoluted chord progressions/melodies, but sadly otherwise the standard verse-chorus-verse architecture with the standard demonic growl vocals getting more recognition in the genre as an ability @ all way too restrictive on actual singing, Like the reverse of Avenged 7 Fold's Sounding the 7th trumpet album stifled a good singer, I'd rather have heard someone sing decent than muddy-up the rest of the band trying too hard to be vocally "genre-correct",- why not try something like Satyricon's Phoenix, or the like..just saying.
