Many in the music world contend that Blue Cheer is the first heavy metal band. You can argue that point until the cows come home but you can't argue that Vincebus Eruptum (#11) is anything but an aural assault. Cheer's cover of "Summertime Blues" (#14) should tell you all you need to know about the band. The music is meant to be LOUD so crank it! BTW, Good Time Are So Hard to Find: The History of Blue Cheer is a part of my collection and while it provides a nice overview of the band, VE is the best example, I think, of who Blue Cheer was as a band—and probably all you need unless you're a huge fan. Text. Limited liner notes. Original album 32:08.
