Notes
Clem Alford, British by birth, spent many years in India studying the sitar under Sachindra Nath Saha, one of that sub-continent's foremost teachers. He was a member of the London Music Fusions and was professor of sitar at the Bharatiya Bhavan, School of Indian Music in London as well as professor of sitar at the Birmingham Conservatoire and private individual teacher to many aspiring sitar players. Amongst others, he played with Indo Jazz Fusions and the 1970s 'psych prog folk' Anglo-Indian Magic Carpet band. He continues to work with numerous performances and recordings to his credit. The recording MIRROR IMAGE has been described as 'an intriguing record, rich in sound and new in musical and philosophical concept - an aural portrait reflected in a series of mirrors, creating a collage of vision - in time and space. Time and space are the 'veil of illusion' which hides the unity of material things, for in reality there is but one.' The title track features contributions from Amacio D'Silva, Alan Branscombe, Toni Campo and Harold Fisher. Other tracks feature Dave Heath (flute), Mick Ripsher (tabla) and Keshav Sathe (tabla).
