A part of Marillion history!! Clutching was the last Marillion LP with Fish on vocals and one of their best. Lyrically amazing, Very close to the bone of what Fish was going through at the time. Musically as brilliant as ever. Best thing about this edition is the sleeve notes, indepth write ups about the bands final days and very moving they are too. Disc 2 is the songs that never got released, interesting but quite hard to listen to. Fish had given up the ghost at this time and evrything was a bit half arsed. A year off would have done both parties the world of good but the EMI philosophy of album tour, album tour eventually killed the band. A must though, even if you have the usual 1cd edition, get this for the history, slainte!
This is re-edition of the last album of real Marillion (with Fish as vocalist). Unfortunately quality of bonus tracks is very low. I cannot understand why the extra tracks were missing and the only copy which was given to remastering process was found in a biscuit tin in Rothery's house! Anyway 2 CDs version is still better than original 1 CD release and I would recommend this album to Marillion's fans.
First bought this on tape when it first came out, played it to death. As this remastered version was avalible at a good price I could not resist. Origanal album CD1 sounds as good as I remember it with some strong songs. CD2 is bits and pieces and will appeal to die hard fans. Sleeve notes very interesting insight in to the time and the events that lead to Fish leaving the band.
Classic 80's album. Big bonus as it comes (as with most of the remastered Marillion albums) a bonus disc. Recommended.
Good would buy again
