Between the Buried and Me are quite possibly my favorite band ever. They are a progressive metal band (which fuse genres like jazz, experimental rock, death metal). The singer, Tommy can go from singing falsetto to drastically changing to deep growls. The band has been around since 2000 and has release four albums - their latest, Colors, quickly being my favorite album of theirs. I believe the majority of the songs on the album are concept (telling a story) and, like most of their past works, the songs are usually long. They have also release a covers album, The Anatomy Of..., in which they cover bands from the Smashing Pumpkins to Queen. And Tommy can imitate the vocalists like crazy. Colors takes an experimental turn for the best and their sound is almost identical to Pink Floyd. If that isn't enough to get you interested, I don't know what will.Read full review

This is the best album of this band . I can hear this album many times on a day and every time i think how this album is awesome... Certainly a MASTERPIECE!!!
First, let me say that Between the Buried and Me (BTBAM) have been an an inspiration to me and my musical ability. Since I began to listen to them my limitations toward music lifted and soared above me. I was opened into a new way of looking at life: to look at the full beauty of everything and not just the exterior. If you listen to some of BTBAM's works, you'll realize exactly what I mean. Now this album, Colors (should be Colours), is probably one of the best albums of the decade, in my opinion. It is a must for any lover of Metal, Jazz, Polka or even Bluegrass (because all of these genres are mixed into this record). BTBAM has done a spectacular job on all the instrumentation and lyrics and worked the whole album into one broken up song. That's right, the CD is one 65 minute song broken into 8 "parts." Almost any music lover will enjoy this album in one way or another. I'd recommend it to anyone. 10/10 And for any guitarist wanting to learn the awe-striking riffery in this CD, you can go to BTBAM's website and click the link to buy the tablature book for Colors all tabbed by BTBAM guitarist, Paul Waggoner himself! or go to http://www.lulu.com/content/1237698Read full review
