This is the Frank Zappa and the Mothers Grease Doo Wop album in which he irreverently pays tribute to some of his early musical roots. He is very convincing but also quite tongue in cheek. A Klassic of sorts, even if the joke wears fairly thin after awhile and may not catch you first time around. Zappa was known for his oddities and this was one of his more famous outtings in that department. The hardcore Zappa fanatics will need it and probably quite enjoy. The casual listener might want to pass on it. You decide. Me? I'm very pleased to add it to my collection. Shop around on EBAY, you might even be able to find it pretty cheap!
classic Zappa. not a must-have for the casual Zappa listener, but a must for his core audience. Atypical in that entire album is based on Franks love of 1950s rock, but with the usual biting Zappa satire. electdrums
OLD STYLE DOO WOP MEETS FRANK ZAPPA. THE LYRICS ARE A HOOT. MUSIC IS GOOD GOOD SOMETIMES A LITTLE LAYED BACK. BUT THE STILL ZAPPAESQUE. I HAVE BOUGHT THE RECORD, CASSETTE AND AM NOW HAPPY I HAVE IT ON CD.
