This is a decent latter-day Edgar Froese album, one inspired by the paintings of Salvador Dali. Dali's work, of course, was a big influence on Tangerine Dream, going all the way back to the days when Edgar was playing at Dali's villa. Even a cursory look at TD album covers (and some other Krautrock albums too) will bear this out. Both Edgar & his first wife, Monique, were creators of stunning visual art in the surrealist vein. The DALINETOPIA album is decent, but seems too conventional musically to really evoke the paintings of Salvador Dali. My favorite track is the opener "Daleroshima." In my opinion, the CD goes downhill after that. But it's not terrible either. If you're a fan of Edgar Froese's music (or Tangerine Dream's group albums), this album is still worth checking out. So sorry to hear of Edgar's death. But, as Edgar himself would say, the only thing that's changed is his "cosmic address."Read full review
